Unclaimed body of Assamese girl buried in Delhi

A dead body of northeast girl from Assam who committed suicide by hanging herself on the night July 12 at Kirti Nagar locality in New Delhi was buried today at Forlorn graveyard at Burari, New Delhi, after keeping for 11 days at DDU Hospital, New Delhi.

The unclaimed dead body was identified as one late Munde (20 years) from Assam was found hanging on July 12. She reportedly came to Delhi in search of domestic job after her parents expired
According to report received from Delhi, the in charge of the Assam Bhavan at New Delhi was informed on the incident at the time when Munde was found suicide. However, none of the representatives of Assam Bhavan responded nor her relatives came to claim the body.

The sources said that the body which was lying for 11 days was buried after cousin brother of a girl was informed and brought from Assam.
Sanjay Brahma, Delhi Police representing North East from Assam Police and North East, volunteers from Bangalore, North East officials from Delhi and priest conducted the last rite at forlorn graveyard.
It is also reported that the brother of the girl who lives in Bangalore was informed of the incident, however due to poverty he could not come to Delhi for the last rite.
The North East People of New Delhi have expressed gratitude to Alemtemsu Jamir, former Chief Secretary of Nagaland, for providing coffin and other materials for the burial. It has also thanked Sanjay Brahma, Delhi Police, for taking all the troubles till the last rite, and the North East volunteers from Bangalore for their presence and initiation for the last rite of the body and many well wishers for every contribution for conducting the last rite.
Meanwhile, North East People of Delhi have expressed displeasure on the part of Assam Bhavan New Delhi, who in spite of putting repeated attention on the incident, did not response nor from Assam state Government to claim the body which was kept for 11 days at DDU Hospital Delhi.
