Money seized from businessman

Guwahati, Mar 20 : Several lakhs of rupees was today seized from a businessman at Satmile area in Assam's main city Guwahati today.

Police said the seizure was made during a routine check at an inter-state check-post with Meghalaya.

The businessman, Nanda Kishore Prajapati, was on way to Guwahati from Garo hills in Meghalaya. Police seized Rs 7.40 lakh from Prajapati.

Over Rs 40 lakh in cash has been recovered from various places in the run-up to the election. Assam goes to the polls on April 4 and 11.
