Guwahati, May 5 (PTI) The Assam government today declared a three-day state mourning from tomorrow after the death of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu in a chopper crash near Sella pass.
In a statement here, the Assam government declared the three days of state mourning "in view of the tragic death of Khandu".
During the period from May five to seven the national flag will be half mast in all government offices and no government entertainment programme will be organised in the state, it said.
Assam Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi have condoled the death of Khandu and said the entire northeastern region had lost a leader of repute. They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
