Assam girl raped in Gurgaon

 NEW DELHI, Jan 3 – A 22-year-old girl from Assam was raped in Gurgaon near here on the night of December 30.

The main accused, a local businessman identified as Manish, is absconding and Gurgaon police has registered a case against him under Section 376 of IPC.

Police sources said the Bodo girl, who hails from Tezpur, was working in Gurgaon area for the last two years as a domestic help. However, she was engaged by the main accused, who lives alone, on Tuesday. Manish, who is a resident of Green Wood City in Sector 40, raped her on Tuesday. The police have launched a manhunt to trace him, while a local NGO has taken up the case.

Earlier, two girls from Manipur were molested and badly beaten up in Gurgaon a couple of weeks back by their landlord and his henchmen.
